What is FAFSA?
FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
- FAFSA determines your eligibility for Federal Pell Grants and Federal Loans.
- FAFSA is helpful but not required for the Ensign Promise scholarship .
Am I eligible for federal aid?
To be eligible for federal financial aid, students must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen with a valid Social Security Number (SSN)
- Be enrolled as a regular student in an eligible degree or certificate program
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Show high school (or equivalency) completion
How do I Apply for FAFSA?
Create an FSA ID at studentaid.gov.
- Your parent or spouse may also need an FSA ID to complete their portion of the FAFSA and give permission for their tax information to be used.
- Complete the FAFSA form at studentaid.gov.
- Enter Ensign’s school code: 003672
- Submit your FAFSA before the priority deadline to be ready for the semester.
You can still receive federal aid if you submit after the priority deadline, but it just might not be here before late fees apply.

- Complete the FAFSA for the year at https://studentaid.gov/.
- Make sure you complete the FAFSA for the correct academic year.
- Be ready to enter your tax information by getting your 1040s or taking advantage of the IRS data retrieval tool in the FAFSA.
- Under the school selection of the FAFSA, add Ensign College’s school code: 003672.
- Submit your FAFSA application.
Which FAFSA Should I Submit?
Depending on when you visit studentaid.gov, the default FAFSA may not be the one you need to submit.
Fill out the 2025-26 FAFSA if you are attending any of the following terms:
- Fall 2025
- Winter 2026
- Spring 2026
