Daniel Rogers
Daniel Rogers is a native of Southern California, to a big family with deep pioneer roots. As a young man, he served the Spanish-speaking community of New York City as a missionary. Upon his return, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at California State University Fullerton with an emphasis in choral education, later his master’s degree from Brigham Young University in Music history, and finally his PhD in musicology at Indiana University with a minor in Renaissance studies.
Brother Rogers has taught music theory and musicology at various educational institutions, including developing an international program of study for music in Italy in collaboration with Umbra Institute in the city of Perugia. He currently works at Ensign College as Director of Curriculum.
In his ward, he serves as the choir director and Elder’s Quorum teacher. Daniel and his wife are the parents of six children, one of whom is currently serving in the Milan, Italy Mission.
