Carolyne Daisy Ashiono was born and raised in Kenya, where she was first introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After her baptism, she came to LDS Business College to study medical assisting. When she returned to Kenya, she opened an orphanage and school in the rural village she'd grown up in.
