Angel's story: A business school to help me progress intellectually and spiritually

So what made Angel Martinez choose LDS Business College?

During his mission in the Philippines, one of his companions mentioned LDS Business School. He was told the College provides a good faith-based environment where teachers and students share the same beliefs and standards, and learn together.

Once he returned home to California from his mission, he had job opportunities there, but he knew he wanted to go to a Church school and felt that Utah was the right place for him to be.

He wanted to gain new skills and continue the spiritual growth he experienced on his mission. He enrolled at LDSBC in May 2016 and began working on an associate degree in business along with certificates in accounting and social media marketing.

When asked about LDSBC, Martinez said, It's a wonderful blessing. This school not only gives you knowledge, but experience and friendships with people who help you excel in many aspects of life.

A notable experience Martinez had was the opportunity of participating in the entrepreneurship program's Bee Founded business pitch event, where BC students can receive funds for business startups. At LDSBC I received many different opportunities to apply what we learned in class, Martinez said.

He also noted the valuable opportunity to attend weekly spiritual devotionals which, he said, helped him...continue the progress I made on my mission, keep a good perspective and remember why I'm doing what I'm doing.

Angel Martinez has a goal to start his own family, centered on the gospel and focused on having a positive influence in the community. He also wants his work to be meaningful and to focus on helping others.
