Beginning Fall 2019, you will have three streamlined degree options: Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Certificates. Whether your priority is getting the skills for a good job so you can transfer and continue your education, or building a comprehensive skill set to start your career immediately, we have a solution to get you there. Learn more about your choices below:
Associate of Science Degree (AS)
The new AS degrees are designed to be stackable, employable and transferable. The majority of programs at LDSBC will now be offered as transferable AS degrees. You can choose to include one or two certificates in your AS degree to help you further your skills and future career.
Stackable
Credits from each certificate stack into your AS degree which, in turn, may stack into a bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution.
Employable
Both the AS degree and all certificates are designed to meet entry-level job requirements.
Transferable
The AS degree is regionally-accredited, meaning it’s designed to easily transfer to four-year institutions.
Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS)
This is the option for you if you want to get a job right after your time at LDSBC. The following fields of study will offer AAS degrees:
- Cyber Security
- Paralegal
- Interior Design
- Applied Technology
The AAS degree is considered a terminal degree. Meaning, these degrees are designed to help you get a job immediately after graduation and are not designed to transfer to another institution.

The College currently offers and will continue to offer the following certificates. They can be included in your AS degree or studied separately.
