Effective March 18, 2020, after consultation with our board of directors and CES administrators, LDSBC will continue classes remotely to allow for regular and substantive interaction for students through the remainder of our Winter 2020 semester (April 9).
Commencement exercises scheduled for April 10, 2020, in the Tabernacle on Temple Square will be canceled. A modified graduation ceremony will be broadcast, with details to be provided at a later date.
Weekly devotionals will not be held in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square; however, a devotional message will be broadcast at the normal devotional hour, 11:15 a.m. each Tuesday.
Students have the choice to remain in the greater Salt Lake City area or return home for the balance of the semester. For students who choose to stay, campus services will continue to be available.
These precautionary measures are expected to be lifted once concern for the virus has been mitigated. LDS Business College will resume normal operations following counsel with the Commissioner’s Office and the collective body of CES institutions. However, we anticipate these adjustments to continue into the Spring 2020 semester, (beginning April 20, 2020).
Students were initially notified of these adjustments via a campus-wide message on March 12, and follow-up messages will be provided by their instructors and the College on a regular basis.
