Federal Direct Stafford Loans

Students walking to class
Stafford loans are offered through the Direct Loan Program and are administered by the Department of Education. There are two types of Stafford Loans: subsidized and unsubsidized. Both have a fixed interest rate and an origination fee. However, subsidized loans don't build interest while you're attending school at least half time, while unsubsidized loans do.

Want to apply? You’ll need to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet the general eligibility and Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
