The annual Business Club food drive broke a 7-year record this month by collecting 2,809 lbs of food for the Utah Food Bank. The previous record of 2,600 lbs was set in 2018.
"I've been trying to break that record for years," says Business Club member Skyler Hall.
Every Spring semester, the Ensign College Business Club invited students, faculty, and staff to participate in a meaningful cause: a campus-wide food drive to help the Utah Food Bank’s summer initiative to provide free meals for kids. This year’s event was held July 2-11.
To increase participation and make this more fun, the club made it a competition among the various floors of the campus, with donation boxes on each floor. A weekly leaderboard added to the competitive spirit, encouraging everyone to get involved.
The winner was the 9th-floor Student Success Center and HR, with 1,031 pounds. Business and Digital Marketing on the 6th floor earned second place, and Accounting, Finance, and Communication on the 5th floor earned third place.
Business Club members are committed to making a difference in the community and providing opportunities for students to build leadership skills through service. If you are interested in getting involved in other service projects or helping host one, come to the 6th-floor academic office to learn more about the Business Club!
