Ensign College 3-year bachelor's degrees are purposefully designed to be completed in less time. They are not accelerated degrees—120-credit programs completed in less time by taking a heavy class load. Every degree program is reviewed regularly by an advisory board of employers in the industry. We work closely with them to make sure that the core classes in each program focus on the skills and experiences employers value.

How It Works
A regular bachelor’s degree takes 120 credits. That includes general education classes, courses in your major, and electives. With a 3-year degree, you’ll still complete your general education and major courses, but the electives are optional, not required.
That means you get the same skills, knowledge, and career preparation, just without the extra time and cost.
Bottom line: A 3-year degree gets you the same bachelor’s credential faster and for less money.
Is the 3-year bachelor's right for me?
Yes, if your goal is to get into the workforce quickly or advance in your career. If you aren't sure, talk to your advisor or program chair about your goals.
Will graduate schools accept 3-year bachelor's degrees?
Yes. This is the same BAS degree as the traditional program, just finished faster. It meets the bachelor’s degree requirement for most graduate schools. Every graduate program is a little different, so if you plan to go on, check with the school you’re applying to about their specific requirements.
Do employers see the 3-year bachelor's degree as equally valid?
Yes. Employers see this as a regular bachelor’s degree. It’s the same accredited BAS degree from Ensign College, nothing less. The only difference is that you finished in less time.
When can I start a 3-year degree?
- Current students in a traditional BAS program may be able to switch in Winter 2026. Talk to your advisor to see if this is the best path for you
- New students can apply directly to an accelerated program starting in Winter 2026
Can international students do 3-year bachelor’s degrees?
Not yet. At this point, the 3-year option on our Salt Lake City campus is only available to domestic students.
