Ensign College now runs on a seven-week block schedule. Domestic students can enter Ensign College on Block 1 or Block 2 of any semester. See the Academic Calendar for more important dates.

Admissions Requirements by Student Type

First-Year Students
You are just starting college and have not earned college credit after high school. High school transcripts are generally not required, unless one of the following situations applies:
  • You attended an International Baccalaureate (IB) program but did not complete it, or the program was not accredited in the U.S.
  • You were homeschooled for high school. You will need to submit one of the following as proof of high school completion:
    • Diploma, certificate, or transcript showing completion of a homeschool program that is recognized by a U.S. state and is comparable to a traditional high school transcript. It should include courses taken, grades earned, and a grading scale.
    • A GED Certificate
    • Proof of a passing score on a state-recognized high school equivalency exam, such as the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) or the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC)
  • You completed dual or concurrent enrollment courses during high school.

  • Transfer credit earned at U.S. regionally accredited colleges or universities is generally accepted for advanced standing if a grade of C- or higher was earned in the course.

Returning Students
If you have not enrolled in classes for three consecutive semesters (including spring semester) and were not granted a Leave of Absence or a Deferment , you must reapply to Ensign College.

What to Submit
  • If you earned credit from another U.S. regionally accredited college or university since you last attended Ensign College, please submit your transcripts to Ensign College using these instructions .
  • Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be reviewed by a third-party evaluation service .

PathwayConnect Students
You have completed PathwayConnect and want to continue your education on campus at Ensign College.

What to Submit

SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE!
If you completed PathwayConnect in the U.S. with at least a 3.0 GPA and are applying to Ensign College as a new student, you qualify for our  Pathway Scholarship . This allows you to pay the PathwayConnect tuition rate for on-campus programs.

Non-Degree-Seeking Students
You want to take classes at Ensign College but do not plan to complete a certificate or degree. This may be a good fit if you:
  • Already have a degree
  • Want to take classes for fun or enrichment
  • Need prerequisites for graduate school or another institution
Transcript requirements vary based on the courses you plan to take and any prerequisites. Non-degree-seeking students do not qualify for financial aid.

BYU FlexGE Students
BYU FlexGE students may enroll at Ensign College and become eligible to apply for financial aid. To participate, students must apply through the BYU FlexGE Program.

Benefits
  • Eligibility to apply for federal financial aid and scholarships through Ensign College
  • The ability to apply credits earned from both BYU and Ensign College toward the completion of an Ensign College degree
  • A clear pathway to continue at Ensign College and earn a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree 
What to Submit
  • Request official transcripts from all colleges attended, including concurrent and dual enrollment transcripts, using these instructions.
  • Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be reviewed by a third-party evaluation service .

Submitting Transcripts

An official transcript can be submitted using one (and only one) of the following methods:

  • Sent electronically through Parchment Exchange, the National Student Clearinghouse, or SCRIP-Safe
  • Emailed directly from the issuing institution to collegetranscript@byu.edu
  • Mailed directly from the issuing institution to:
