
Graduation vs. Commencement
Commencement is the ceremony that celebrates the completion of your degree or certificate. Graduates who choose to participate in commencement are recognized with family and friends in a special ceremony at the Tabernacle on Temple Square.

Cap and Gown Information
Cap, gown, and tassel are required for walking at Commencement (April 17, 2026).
Ordering
You need to order your cap and gown orders by TBA. Be sure to purchase the complete package that includes a cap, a gown, and a 2025 tassel. If you already have one or more of these items, only purchase what you need.
Picking Up
Your cap and gown will be delivered to campus. From TBA, they will be available for pickup in the Student Success Center (9th floor). At the time of pickup, if you have a GPA of 3.7 or higher, you can purchase a yellow honor cord for $10.
Forgot to Order?
Graduates must have a cap and gown to participate in the ceremony. If you were not able to order before the deadline, we have a limited number of cap and gown sets available for purchase. You may also consider borrowing from friends or family.

COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES
The Tabernacle at Temple Square
Broadcast – The Commencement ceremony will be live-streamed in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. This link will be live on the morning of April 17th.
Watch Live Stream
Schedule - Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for guests. Please plan on being in your seat by 9:30 a.m. Please do not bring balloons or food inside.
Accommodations – Headsets will be available in Spanish and Portuguese. If you or your guests need additional accommodations, please contact Matt Smith at matthew.smith@ensign.edu
Parking – Parking is available at Ensign College, City Creek, and limited parking under the Conference Center.
Graduate Check-in - April 17, 8:30 a.m.
There will be signs letting you know where to go when you arrive. Please attend in Sunday attire. All students need to comply with CES Dress and Grooming Expectations (all - modest attire; men - clean-shaven, short hair). Please do not bring coats, bags, purses, balloons, or any personal items. Honor Cords are the only decoration allowed to be worn with your commencement gown.
Diplomas
Diplomas are not given during live Commencement exercises. Graduates receive a diploma cover, and the actual diploma is mailed at a later date.
