Newly Admitted Student Checklist
The following checklist contains valuable information to help you get started at Ensign College. Not everything listed will apply to you, but we encourage you to read through each item to make sure you are prepared to succeed in school.

Students are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). You'll need to set up a FERPA passphrase to access your records. Here is more information about FERPA as well as instructions to set up your FERPA passphrase.

Toggle ItemI-20 Documents for International StudentsI-20 Documents for International Students
International students must be issued an I-20 to study at Ensign College. Before an I-20 can be issued, you'll need to complete several tasks. International students will not be allowed to register for classes until the I-20 is issued.

Toggle ItemInternational Student Check-InInternational Student Check-In
Are you an international student? Once you enter the country and are ready to start school, you'll need to complete the International Student Check-in Process.
- Complete the International Student Check-in Application on bcINTL with your U.S. address.
- Bring the following documents to the International Student Office on the second floor (these must be brought by you in person):
- I-20 Form issued by Ensign College
- Passport
- Visa
- Current I-94 Form. This is an online form that you will access by clicking here .
- If you have dependents, bring all of their documentation as well.
All of these documents will be scanned into our system. You will also receive an International Student Handbook that will advise you on how to stay in status while attending Ensign College.

Registration for classes will be available prior to your starting semester. Please see our Calendar for important dates, including when registration opens.

If you are a new student or have a hold on your account, you will need to take the Initial Placement Assessment, work in the modules and then take an official Proctored Placement Exam within ALEKS PPL before registering for a second semester at Ensign College.

Toggle ItemTransfer EvaluationTransfer Evaluation
Ensign College accepts college-level transfer credits from regionally-accredited colleges and universities. This usually happens automatically after you are admitted to the college. You can see which credits transferred by viewing your Advising Report in your MyEnsign account.

Toggle ItemOfficial Ensign College Email AddressOfficial Ensign College Email Address
Every new student is assigned an Ensign College email account, which will be used for all official communication from the College. Your email will be assigned once you are admitted to the college, and communicated to the email address you provided us in your application. You will typically receive this 24 to 48 hours after receiving your admission notification.
Your email address will be assigned based on your Ensign College Net ID, and will look like NetID@ensign.edu. So if your assigned Net ID is johndee, your Ensign College email address will be johndee@ensign.edu.

If you are enrolled in school at least ¾ time, you will need to have adequate medical coverage. This can be obtained through private insurance or through our school plan.

If you are eligible and would like to apply for federal financial aid, you should complete the FAFSA at least two months before tuition is due.

Many students are eligible for scholarships. To apply for most scholarships, you must already be registered for at least 12 credits.

You can pay tuition online as well as on campus. Tuition is due before classes begin. Check our Academic Calendar for important dates.

Ensign College does not own, operate or control any student housing facilities, but provides a list of off-campus property owners as an informal service to students.

Some students will have holds placed on their accounts. These holds can prevent registration, access to official transcripts and other services. To see if you have any holds that need to be resolved, check the Student Center in your MyEnsign account.

Newly admitted and current students are eligible to defer their attendance for religious service or military leave.

Former students will use the Net ID that was previously assigned to them. If you have any difficulties logging in or remembering your Net ID, please contact the BC Help Desk by emailing ECHelpdesk@ensign.net or calling (801) 524-8100.
