Graduation Through BYU-Pathway Worldwide
Graduation encompasses completion of an Ensign College online certificate or degree program, supported by BYU-Pathway Worldwide. See below for instructions on how to apply for graduation.

Requirements to Receive a Certificate or Diploma
  • Review your Degree Audit to make sure it’s complete. Contact your assigned peer mentorwith any questions.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, unless otherwise required.
  • Have a current ecclesiastical endorsement.
  • Have no holds or past due financial balances with Ensign College.
  • Earn at least 50% of required credits directly from Ensign College.
When to Apply

You can apply for graduation in the semester you intend to complete your program. For example, if you wish to graduate at the end of Term 2, you can apply at the beginning of Term 2. The application must be submitted by the appropriate deadline:

How to Apply

  1. Log in to your BYU-Pathway student portal 
  2. Select "Support" then "Companion" in the navigation pane on the left side of the screen. 
  3. Log into Companion using your byupathway.edu email address. 
  4.  Select the "Services" button at the bottom of the page. 
  5. Click on the "Graduation Application" button. This will open the graduation application. 
  6. Fill out the application by providing the information in each field. 
  7. You will need to have a current ecclesiastical endorsement to be awarded graduation in any program. 
Filling out the application will automatically send a case to the Graduation Team for review. The review process can take 2-3 weeks. After the case has been reviewed, communication will be sent to you to let you know the status of your application.

After You Apply

Your graduation application is reviewed by the Registrar’s Office. If you are missing any requirements or do not qualify for graduation, you will be contacted through email within a few weeks of the application deadline.

Please check your assigned BYU-Pathway email, as well as any personal email accounts.
DIPLOMAS

Diplomas are available once requirements and grades are officially verified, usually 4-6 weeks after final grades are posted.

  • Instructions on claiming your electronic version of your diploma will be sent to your BYU-Pathway email address.
  • A paper copy will not be sent unless you request it. Once you have received your electronic copy, you will be able to request a paper copy. BYU-Pathway will cover the cost of the first paper request for each awarded certificate, associate, and bachelor’s degree. Additional copies will be at your expense.
  • Your full legal name (middle name included) is printed on the diploma.

COMMENCEMENT
As a BYU-Pathway Worldwide student, you are invited to attend Ensign College’s commencement ceremony, held annually in April. Family and friends are welcome. Your name will be included in the commencement program that occurs after the semester you graduate.

We recognize many online students around the world are unable to attend commencement in person. You will be notified regarding any live recording or streaming options.

Did you know that Ensign College has an Alumni Association? Once you complete a degree or certificate at Ensign College, you become a member of the Ensign College Alumni Association, joining nearly 100,000 others. Benefits include lifetime career services privileges and one free course per year beginning three years after graduation--called the Alumni Brush Up.

To take advantage of the Alumni Brush Up, you must be admitted to the college. After you are admitted, fill out the Alumni Brush-Up Course Request form.
